Sunny Deol Confirms Jaat 2: A Bigger, Bolder Mission is Underway

Bollywood’s beloved action icon Sunny Deol is officially set to return with the sequel to his recent patriotic action drama, Jaat. Titled Jaat 2, the film was announced this week through an exciting new poster and message shared on social media, hinting at an even bigger mission ahead for his character, Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh.

“#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2,” Deol captioned the post, triggering an enthusiastic response from fans and action movie lovers across the country.

A Promised Upgrade

Though Jaat received a mixed critical response, it went on to gross over ₹89 crore worldwide since its release on April 10, 2025. Expressing gratitude for the audience’s love, Sunny Deol released a short video stating, “You have given me so much love for my film Jaat. I promise Jaat 2 will be even better.”

The announcement reassures fans that the sequel won’t just be a continuation, but a level-up in scale and storytelling.

The Team Behind the Sequel

Jaat 2 will once again be helmed by Gopichand Malineni, who made his Hindi directorial debut with Jaat after a successful career in Telugu cinema. The film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the same production banners behind the original.

While an official cast list hasn’t been revealed yet, it is widely expected that Sunny Deol will reprise his role as the gritty and patriotic Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh — a performance that resonated with fans for its intensity and nationalistic fervor. The original film also featured Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, and Vineet Kumar Singh in key roles.

Sunny Deol’s Packed Slate

Aside from Jaat 2, Sunny Deol has several major projects lined up. He will be seen in Lahore 1947, a film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. He is also expected to reprise his role in the much-anticipated war drama Border 2, nearly three decades after the original film became a classic.

With Jaat 2, Sunny Deol seems ready to channel his larger-than-life screen persona into another chapter of action and patriotism — and this time, with even greater scale and impact.
